Treble Cone, the South Island’s largest ski area, offers a real New Zealand snow experience, including long, uncrowded groomed slopes, legendary off-piste terrain, unrivalled views and friendly hospitality.
This expansive mountain has the longest vertical rise in the Queenstown – Wanaka region, with far reaching boundaries spread over two large basins. Mother Nature has taken care of the terrain, sculpting fun gullies, wide faces and exciting undulating runs, offering snow lovers of all levels plenty of options.
Treble Cone is a mountain that welcomes all skiers and snowboarders. Friendly faces and top notch service allow visitors to take control of their day and make it truly memorable.
TRANSPORT
Treble Cone is the closest ski resort to Wanaka, located a short 29km / 35 minute scenic drive along the picturesque shores of Lake Wanaka. Free mountain parking available at the Base Lodge and at the bottom of the access road.
Getting to the mountain will become even easier this season, with a free return bus service from Wanaka for families booking lessons, lift passes or ‘active’ packages. There’s also a free mountain shuttle from the base of the access road that runs throughout the day with more frequent departures during peak times in early morning and mid to late afternoon.
ON THE MOUNTAIN
Treble Cone offers great facilities to its visitors – even those not into winter sports. Friends and family can enjoy scenic chairlift rides or mountain tours, offering some of the most stunning views in the South Island.
You definitely won’t be hungry, with the grab-and-go café and the burger bar available at the home base. You can also warm up with pizza and hot drink at the Altitude Espresso & Pizza, located at the top of the sun bathed Home Basin Express. And in 2016 there will also be an outdoor BBQ, brought to you by the Treble Cone team and JUCY rentals.
Add to it gear rental and shop, free beginners area, 6-seater express chairlift & quad chairlift, with 4,500 people per hour capacity – you’re guaranteed a great day if skiing and riding.
