Mt Dobson, located halfway between Christchurch and Queenstown, is a fun and friendly ski area offering wide, open, uncrowded runs, spectacular views and excellent facilities for the whole family. All day sun, stunning scenery, groomed trails and off-piste adventure – what more could you ask for?
Mt Dobson has been owned and operated by the Foote family for the past 32 years and they have made it their mission to make this ski area the friendliest around. You will see the Foote family about on the mountain ensuring everybody is enjoying their day out and are happy to help or just have a chat!
TRANSPORT
Located just 40 minutes’ drive from Fairlie, the Mt Dobson car park is accessed via one of the easiest mountain access roads in New Zealand. Cars, motorhomes and buses can easily navigate the 15km road up to the Mt Dobson mountain resort.
ON THE MOUNTAIN
The cosy cafe sells hot and cold food, hot and cold drinks and snacks. Pop in for lunch or to recharge your batteries any time during the day.
If you need either skiing or snowboarding gear this can be rented on the mountain. There’s also the option to rent snow clothing, if required.
